Ombudsman

Working as advocates for residents, ombudsmen (a Swedish word meaning “representative of the people”) provide services to help resolve complaints and concerns within long-term care settings. An ombudsman is assigned to every long-term care facility in the region and can assist you in choosing a long-term care facility or resolving any concerns facility residents or their family members may have.

DRCOG also has a volunteer ombudsman program, nearly 70 strong. Volunteers work in the same capacity as staff ombudsmen helping seniors in the region achieve the highest quality of life possible. If you are interested in helping the Denver metro area’s seniors, contact Nancy Ferrier at 303-480-5638.
