Donate
There are many different ways to donate to Senior Housing Options. Every bit helps and we thank you for your support.
Donate Online
The easiest way to give! If you itemize for the IRS, your contribution is generally tax-deductible. We will send you an acknowledgment letter for your tax records. If your company has a matching gift program, the gift can be doubled in value. Please help us to support residents at our Senior Housing Options communities with a financial donation today so that we can continue delivering our mission for another 45 years!
$25 provides transportation to an activity for two residents
$50 provides a year of personal toiletries
$100 buys a month’s supply of vitamins and over the counter medications
$500 provides for a special meal that all residents can enjoy at one community
Other Ways to Give
Mail in Check
Merely drop a check in the mail and let us know if this is for a particular event or SHO community, using the following address:
Senior Housing Options Contribution
1510 17th Street
Denver, CO 80202
Monthly Giving
By giving monthly, you may be able to support us in a much bigger way! Please call us so that we can keep your credit card information confidential – 303-595-4464 ext. 10 – and ask for Angelica.
A quick, trouble-free way to support over 370 people. Simply confirm a monthly gift to be charged on your credit card. You’ll probably never miss it! Just $5 per month will help provide over-the-counter medications-aspirin, cough syrup, etc.-for residents that you probably take for granted! $10 per month will do even more!
Tribute Gifts
When you send your check in the mail, please let us know if you would like to donate in the name of someone special.
Looking for a special way to honor a family member or friend? Make a contribution in honor of someone celebrating a special occasion-a birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary or retirement.
Or want to honor a memory? Please consider a memorial gift recognizing the name of a loved one.
We will send an acknowledgement card to those you have named and a letter to you confirming your gift and will also note the gift both in our annual report and newsletters.
Matching Gifts
Your employer may double or even triple employees’ gifts. Check with your human resources or community affairs department. Your gift will count for even more.
Workplace Giving
Senior Housing Options participates in Community Shares, a workplace giving program. You can make a one-time or monthly donation by designating SHO during the fall giving campaign at your office. Please tell your co-workers about SHO and encourage them to make a difference by making a contribution!
If Community Shares is not offered at your workplace, contact us and we would be happy to speak with your employer. You may also write-in Senior Housing Options as a “donor choice” option on your office’s United Way pledge card.
Campaign ID numbers for SHO are:
• Community Shares for Colorado #5156
* Denver Employees Combined Campaign #5133
• Colorado Combined Campaign #5131
Bequests
By remembering Senior Housing Options in your estate plan, you can have a lasting impact on improving the lives of seniors. You may also be able to reduce estate taxes.
When you consult with your attorney or financial advisor, please consider remembering SHO in your will or in a trust or charitable gift annuity. You may designate gifts of cash, securities, property or a percentage of your estate.
To include SHO in your plans, please have your attorney or advisor include the following information in your document:
Senior Housing Options
1510 17th St.
Denver, CO 80202
Tax ID # 84-0820084
If you currently have a will, you can ask your attorney to add a codicil to it, naming Senior Housing Options. Here is some sample language you can use:
“ I give to Senior Housing Options, located at 1510 17th St., Denver, CO 80202, a Colorado non-profit corporation, the sum of $___ or the property described herein, or ___% of my estate, for general purposes.”
If you have added Senior Housing Options to your will, please let us know so that we can thank you. All information will be kept confidential.
Life Insurance Policies & Retirement Plans
This is another way to ensure that the work of Senior Housing Options continues. Your life insurance agent or your retirement plan representative can send you a change of beneficiary form and you can name Senior Housing Options as the beneficiary.
Tangible Personal Property
You can donate items such as art objects, prized collections or appreciated real estate. You can take a deduction of the item’s fair market value if the item’s use is related to our tax-exempt function. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
