Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering your valuable time at SHO!
Many of our residents have limited contact with family and often lose friendships within the community. If you’d like to be a regular visitor or companion to one of our residents or bring a talent to any of our residences, just let us know what you are looking for and we will find a match.
Group Activities
Games – Bingo, Scrabble, Jeopardy, etc.
Music – lead singing (hymns, etc.), piano, organ (song book – words)
Dance – two-step, ballroom, etc.
Cards – poker, pinochle, etc.
Crafts – for gifts, holidays
Book Club
Photography
Individual Activities
Read the newspaper, book, or magazine
Write letters, emails, short stories or life journal
Invite to church, lunch, shopping or an outing
Provide transportation to appointments
One-on-one visiting, walks
