Sixty percent of our income comes from federal, state, local sources with additional income coming from state grants, fees, and donations like yours.  We rely on your generosity to help provide the caring services in our residential communities that enrich the lives of older adults in Colorado.

Monthly Giving

Your monthly gift to Senior Housing Options provides a steady, reliable stream of funding that helps sustain affordable, quality housing and supportive services for older adults and people with disabilities. Monthly donations are easy, budget-friendly, and make a lasting impact—every month, you’ll be helping your neighbors live with dignity, security, and connection.

You can select monthly donations on the Colorado Gives/ Mighty Cause donation form.  You can change it anytime by going to the Senior Housing Options page at ColoradoGives.org.

Tribute Gifts

When you send your check in the mail, please let us know if you would like to donate in the name of someone special.

Looking for a special way to honor a family member or friend? Make a contribution in honor of someone celebrating a special occasion-a birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary or retirement.

Or want to honor a memory? Please consider a memorial gift recognizing the name of a loved one.

We will send an acknowledgement card to those you have named and a letter to you confirming your gift and will also note the gift both in our annual report and newsletters.

Matching Gifts

Your employer may double or even triple employees’ gifts. Check with your human resources or community affairs department. Your gift will count for even more.

Workplace Giving

Senior Housing Options participates in Community Shares, a workplace giving program. You can make a one-time or monthly donation by designating SHO during the fall giving campaign at your office. Please tell your co-workers about SHO and encourage them to make a difference by making a contribution!

If Community Shares is not offered at your workplace, contact us and we would be happy to speak with your employer. You may also write-in Senior Housing Options as a “donor choice” option on your office’s United Way pledge card.

Bequests

By remembering Senior Housing Options in your estate plan, you can have a lasting impact on improving the lives of seniors. You may also be able to reduce estate taxes.

When you consult with your attorney or financial advisor, please consider remembering SHO in your will or in a trust or charitable gift annuity. You may designate gifts of cash, securities, property or a percentage of your estate.

To include SHO in your plans, please have your attorney or advisor include the following information in your document:

If you currently have a will, you can ask your attorney to add a codicil to it, naming Senior Housing Options. Here is some sample language you can use:

“ I give to Senior Housing Options, located at 1510 17th St., Denver, CO 80202, a Colorado non-profit corporation, the sum of $___ or the property described herein, or ___% of my estate, for general purposes.”

If you have added Senior Housing Options to your will, please let us know so that we can thank you. All information will be kept confidential.

Life Insurance Policies & Retirement Plans

This is another way to ensure that the work of Senior Housing Options continues. Your life insurance agent or your retirement plan representative can send you a change of beneficiary form and you can name Senior Housing Options as the beneficiary.

Tangible Personal Property

You can donate items such as art objects, prized collections or appreciated real estate. You can take a deduction of the item’s fair market value if the item’s use is related to our tax-exempt function. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.

In Kind Gifts

We gratefully accept certain in-kind services or products and gifts of equipment if they are in good working condition and usable at one of our residences. This is a good way to support our Resident Wish List
