As Senior Housing Options’ Chief Executive Officer since July 2022, Vennita leads the team of staff and works directly with the Board of Directors to further the mission. Vennita also facilitates planning towards new opportunities for the organization. Vennita joined Senior Housing Options (SHO) in April of 2017 as the Director of Operations.
Prior to joining SHO, Vennita was Center Director at InnovAge Greater Colorado PACE, Lakewood, Colorado for seven years and served as an assisted living administrator for 17 years. Vennita has a long history of supporting the community. She has served on various boards and task forces where she has been active in older adult legislative movements and championing affordable housing for older adults. Vennita is currently the Board Chair of LeadingAge Colorado and has been a longtime advocate in the aging field within Colorado and nationally.
Vennita holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Meet Michael
Meet Michael a resident of the Olin Hotel Apartments, one of Senior Housing Options’ subsidized apartments.
This 73-year-old man ended up homeless, spending his days in the library and nights on the buses to stay warm after losing his job then subsequently his apartment.
Michael found the Olin and has been able to make it his home. He now has stability and can focus on more than where he’s going to find security for a single night.
He’s managing his health and looking for ways to help others.
While Michael is an extraordinary man who is compassionate and funny, his story of struggle is not unique. It’s because of residents like Michael that Senior Housing Options is dedicated to providing and promoting quality, affordable housing and caring supportive services for older adults in Colorado.
