As Senior Housing Options’ Director of Development since November 2023, Tamar oversees individual giving, corporate giving, the grants program and marketing and communications to ensure we are in alignment with our strategic plan, and we are successful furthering our mission. Tamar joined Senior Housing Options (SHO) in September 2020 as the Manager of Fundraising and Marketing.
Prior to joining SHO, Tamar had 15+ years of development experience with various nonprofits in the Denver metro area including a youth homelessness organization, workforce development organization, and domestic violence agencies. With her years of nonprofit experience, she enjoys most stewarding a mission that helps individuals overcome personal barriers and work towards reaching their full potential.
Tamar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University.
In her spare time Tamar enjoys spending time with her family and friends and hiking in the beautiful mountains with her rescue dog Naava.
Meet Michael
Meet Michael a resident of the Olin Hotel Apartments, one of Senior Housing Options’ subsidized apartments.
This 73-year-old man ended up homeless, spending his days in the library and nights on the buses to stay warm after losing his job then subsequently his apartment.
Michael found the Olin and has been able to make it his home. He now has stability and can focus on more than where he’s going to find security for a single night.
He’s managing his health and looking for ways to help others.
While Michael is an extraordinary man who is compassionate and funny, his story of struggle is not unique. It’s because of residents like Michael that Senior Housing Options is dedicated to providing and promoting quality, affordable housing and caring supportive services for older adults in Colorado.
