A Reputation for Compassionate Service

Our mission is to provide residential communities and caring services to enrich the lives of older adults in Colorado.

Our vision is that Colorado’s older adults live and thrive in a safe, caring community regardless of their financial means.

Senior Housing Options is where the light is always on
and the door is open for everyone.

Senior Housing Options, Inc. (SHO) is a nonprofit organization that serves low- and moderate-income older adults and adults with disabling conditions.. We currently own and/or manage both assisted living and affordable housing apartments for almost 500 residents including properties in Cortez, Denver, Longmont, and Parachute.

SHO is unique in that we provide affordable housing in both the assisted living and more independent settings to those who need it most. We are one of Colorado’s most long-standing nonprofits in the affordable housing sector, providing the best options for older adults and those with disabilities.

45 Years of Serving Colorado’s Older Adults

Senior Housing Options was initiated by a group of churches in Capitol Hill, recognizing that many older adults were being pushed out of their single room occupancy homes by growing demand for office space in downtown Denver.

Meet Michael

Meet Michael a resident of the Olin Hotel Apartments, one of Senior Housing Options’ subsidized apartments.

This 73-year-old man ended up homeless, spending his days in the library and nights on the buses to stay warm after losing his job then subsequently his apartment.

Michael found the Olin and has been able to make it his home. He now has stability and can focus on more than where he’s going to find security for a single night.

He’s managing his health and looking for ways to help others.

While Michael is an extraordinary man who is compassionate and funny, his story of struggle is not unique. It’s because of residents like Michael that Senior Housing Options is dedicated to providing and promoting quality, affordable housing and caring supportive services for older adults in Colorado.
