What is Assisted Living?

For seniors and older adults with disabilities, our assisted living residences provide an array of support services such as meals, housekeeping, assistance with medications, and personal care.  Resident- directed plans of care are tailored to meet the needs of the individual, built on strengths and clearly identifying how and when help is needed.   Staff is available 24 hours a day to assure a safe and secure environment.

Assisted living is very different from a nursing home.  Residents are able to direct the planning of their daily activities according to their own interests and needs.  They are encouraged to maintain an active lifestyle including ties with family members, friends, and other interests in the community.  Scheduled outings and on-site programs offer additional opportunities for meaningful engagement.

Our quality management team monitors residences quarterly and provides the training and tools necessary to assure the highest practicable quality of life for our residents.  Assisted living residences are licensed by the Colorado Department of Health, and inspected regularly.

**Effective 2.1.13 Senior Housing Options will not be accepting Section 8 vouchers in our Assisted Living programs.

How Do I Pay For It?

Most of our services are included in one monthly fee. These are generally paid from private resident funds or long-term-care insurance policies that cover assisted living.  Medicaid covers a portion of the cost for those who qualify.  For more information about Medicaid eligibility, go to the Resource Center page.

This years theme is: Art for the Ages

NCAL established National Assisted Living Week® (NALW) in 1995 as a way to promote assisted living to the public.“Art for the Ages” brings together residents, staff, family and the community to celebrate the talents and creativity assisted living residents have developed through hard work and their love of art.  Art inspires and brings pride and beauty to those who create it and enjoy it.  Music, painting, knitting, carving, model building, cooking are some of the many outlets residents have to express their creative side. We are going to celebrate their creativity and marvel at what they have achieved over the years.
