Jimmy, 63
Jimmy is developmentally disabled and a double amputee, having lost both of his feet to frostbite. With the mental age of a seven-year-old, he requires supportive housing where his health needs can be monitored and housekeeping and meals are provided.

Denver School of the Performing Arts Student Wins Plum Youth Grant Award for Work at Park Hill Residence

Do Something, a national nonprofit which supports public service work in teens, named Jenny Tsveleva a 2008 Plum Grant Winner.  Tsveleva was recognized for volunteer work she completed at Park Hill Residence, a low-income senior assisted living facility located in the Park Hill neighborhood.  Tsveleva's work was Inspired by a resident’s request, and she began holding weekly art classes at the facility. 

This is one of a series of projects supported by Do Something. Every week of the year, Do Something identifies a promising young leader who is taking the lead in  effecting change in his/her community or a community abroad. The winners, age 25 and under, from the US and Canada, are chosen based on the potential of their projects to grow and impact many more lives.
